A seasoned leadership coach, Sian has been working at senior levels for many years. She relishes the challenges of working with issues such as system change, power, relational politics, conflict and resistance, impact and influence. Whether teams or individuals, Sian supports her clients to focus on areas where they can have real impact, holding them to make progress that matters to their organisations.
This can be anything that senior leadership requires – effective handling of key stakeholders, negotiating tricky colleague relationships or working through cultural or system change. It might mean helping senior leaders develop skilful negotiation of painful people issues combined with steely decision-making. It might mean tackling interpersonal challenges such as confidence or imposter syndrome which are holding a person back. Sometimes it is simply being the one person that a senior leader can safely unload onto. For teams, it might mean helping them have the conversations that they have been avoiding but which are necessary for progress to be unblocked.
Sian is regarded as a deeply compassionate and supportive coach, mindful of the human condition we all inhabit, but at the same time perceptive and challenging. She believes in the judicious use of candour but is always kind with her directness. She draws on a range of coaching approaches, adapting her work in the moment to ensure the right results are achieved. This includes working with real-time feedback in session as she gets to know you, and acting as a strategic advisor, which many of her most senior clients value.
One of her clients recently said to her that coaching is not quite the right word for what she does as much of what she works with is the deeper stuff of what it is to be human. Leadership, especially at very senior levels, can be both tough-going and lonely as well as exhilarating. It can bring us face to face with our deepest vulnerabilities and fears. Sian will be there, walking alongside you all the way, as you travel that wonderful path.
Sian has studied with the School of Coaching attaining a Certificate of Professional Development in Coaching; Strathclyde University, the Academy of Executive Coaching, NTL and The Centre of Systemic Constellations.
